This week we will wrap up our study on Jeremiah for now and move on next week to God's Love: The Series. This week we will continue to focus on the prayer of Jeremiah. Let us dig in and may God continue to mold us and shape us, restore us and rescue us, move us. . .
*Bible Verses is not an exhaustive study and each reader should seek the Lord alone for revelation and translation.
Jeremiah 10: 1-7
"Hear the word that the Lord speaks to you,
O house of Israel. Thus says the Lord:
" Learn not the way of the nations,
nor be dismayed at the signs of the heavens
because the nations are dismayed at them,
for the customs of the peoples are vanity.
A tree from the forest is cut down
and worked with an axe by the hands of a
craftsman.
They decorate it with silver and gold;
they fasten it with hammer and nails
so that it cannot move.
Their idols are like scarecrows in a
cucumber field,
and they cannot speak;
they have to be carried,
for they cannot walk.
Do not be afraid of them,
for they cannot do evil,
neither is it in them to do good."
There is none like you, O Lord;
you are great, and your name is great in
might.
Who would not fear you, O King of the nations?
For this is your due;
for among all the wise ones of the nations
and in all their kingdoms
there is none like you."
Restoration. I believe and have been convicted that repentance is the first step towards restoration. I have come to realize that the sin of putting things before God is often masked by my own unwillingness to see that. It has been on my heart that in times when so many things want our attention that God calls for it. We need the Holy Spirit as the only means of restoration with God. In terms of vanity,when we look in the mirror I believe we should see ourselves as God has made us. Many times I see more and face vanity, many times I see less and face selfishness, but when we seek restoration we must have a vision and focus change and come face to face with our weakness and failure and then leave it before God. For there is no one like Him, He is the great restorer.
*Note: This post will remain with the other posts regarding Jeremiah under the Bible Verses Series label until next Wednesday when all of them will be removed to make way for the next step in our series.
