Easter is really about the most profound and promising miracle in history the resurrection of Christ. His defeat over death. It's about His life and His Glory. It is about Him. So many holidays in our country become about us, about stuff, about traditions. There is nothing wrong with tradition in and of itself, but when tradition replaces Truth then a problem arises. Traditions are fun and I think that is great, but the fun should never replace the real reason for Easter. We have traditions for Easter as well, but I think this Easter the challenge would be to meditate on the Resurrection of Christ, to celebrate His life, and praise Him for his redemption. It's so easy to get lost in traditions but to be found in Christ is perhaps the greatest gift of all. May each of us cherish that gift and live it out daily. May this Easter be more than tradition may it be transformation. :)
