This month the Bible Verses Series will focus on Christ's Birth. A few notes before we get started. If you want to access any of this month's Bible Verses posts they will be available on the sidebar under Links. Each month these will be updated with the current series and the previous month will be deleted from the links. Another quick note this post will feature a link to Bible Studies focusing on Giving Thanks to offer more resources for those interested in a deeper study of that topic.
Now on to our current Series, this week and next week the series will focus on the prophesy related to the birth of Christ. During these time may each of us reflect on the impact of those that awaited the coming Christ. May each of us have the same feeling of anticipation for Christ's second return. May God change our hearts and our perspectives through this series. There will be no notes to accompany this series, may we just dwell on these verses and seek our Savior.
Awaiting the Birth of Christ
Isaiah's Prophesy

Isaiah 9:2-7
"The people who walked in darkness
have seen a great light;
those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness,
on them has light shined.
You have multiplied the nation;
you have increased its joy;
they rejoice before you
as with joy at the harvest,
as they are glad when they divide the spoil.
For the yoke of his burden,
and the staff for his shoulder,
the rod of his oppressor,
you have broken as on the day of Midian.
For every boot of the trampling warrior in
battle tumult
and every garment rolled in blood
will be burned as fuel for the fire.
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and of
peace
there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and uphold it
with justice and righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this."
