Our Late Valentine's Date

This Friday Jared and I celebrated Valentine's Day late by eating at a hotel in Dallas. They have a beautiful restaurant called The French Room and it was delicious. We got all dressed up and went downtown and had a nice long dinner and headed home. The food was wonderful and different and the setting was so romantic. We sat at a candle-lit table together and the had a wonderful time. Hope you all had a great weekend too.

By the way I wanted to post the recipe for Double Chocolate Pot De Creme.
This recipe is from the Nordstrom's Cookbook (slightly altered), this dessert takes a while to make but it is really good.

Ingredients:
4 ounces of high quality( we used Hershey's) bittersweet chocolate chips
3 ounces milk chocolate chips
1 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
2/3 cup whole milk
3 tablespoons sugar
Pinch of salt
6 large egg yolks
4-6 Ramkins
Garnish with:
Whip Cream and berry of your choice
Optional: Add chocolate shavings on top

Steps:
1. Preheat oven to 300. Place the ramkins, in a roasting pan fill pan with tap water until ramkins are half covered.
2. Combine chocolates in a bowl. In a saucepan over medium- high heat combine cream, milk, sugar, and salt bring to a boil stirring often. Pour the hot mixture over the chocolates. Let stand for 3 minutes. Whisk until smooth.
3. Whisk egg yolks and add to mixture. Combine again.
4. Using a ladle, divide chocolate mixture among ramkins. It fills four nicely but can fill a smaller amount in six ramkins.
5. Bake until custard is solidified, like pudding.
6. Let the ramkins cool and then add whip cream and berries.
7. Enjoy. :)
