This week the Bible Verses series will wrap up the study on Song of Solomon and next week the series will move on to Isaiah. I will be in prayer for all God has to show and reveal to each of us through that book. This week may each of us seek with eager anticipation the revelation from the Lord into our lives. May we seek him daily for guidance and wisdom. May the Song of Solomon move us and change us and challenge our perspective.
* The Bible Verses Series is not an exhaustive study and each reader is encouraged to read the book of the Bible in its entirety and seek revelation from the Holy Spirit.
Song of Solomon
Chapter 8 verse 13
Lover
"You who dwell in the gardens
with friends in attendance,
let me hear your voice!"
Chapter 2 verse 14
Lover
"My dove, in the clefts of the rock,
in the hiding places of the mountainside,
show me your face,
let me hear your voice;
for your voice is sweet,
and your face is lovely."
*Authors notes are observations or thoughts and each reader should seek the Lord individually for revelation and meaning.
Anticipation and Love:
These verses are full of anticipation, eager awaiting for the one that his heart loves. In life so much is lost in the rush of tasks that anticipation, awaiting, and enjoying time can sometimes be lost. Whether married or single I think these verses can also speak to us regarding our attitudes and actions towards others. The Beloved woman that the lover speaks of is kind and sweet and does not approach him with harsh words and he eagerly seeks after her as a result. I have been guilty so many times of approaching my husband with less than kind words and being irritated or angry over tasks not completed rather than awaiting his return from work in eager anticipation. Lord forgive me and change my heart and change the hearts of all of these readers towards the ones you have given us to love whether husbands, family, friends, or strangers may our actions speak of your love for us.
