Welcome to Ketchikan our last stop in Alaska


Our next stop was to Ketchikan Alaska. It was a really neat town that was right underneath some mountains. The town was somewhat elevated and it was neat to walk up and down the streets because they went uphill. We spent the day there going to a totem pole museum and a salmon hatchery. We also visited the famous Creek Street, which is a street built right on a creek. The totem pole history is amazing and how it reflects ancient times. We saw a few old totem poles and learned of their stories. The hatchery was awesome, they had two rescued bald eagles. We got to see them up close and learn about them, the most interesting thing was that they build a nest and add to it until they die and then their children add to it on down the generations. They found one nest that was over 30 lbs. from 50 generations adding to it. We also learned about the salmon and how they are born and then return to the hatchery it was neat.

That night we celebrated our anniversary at the nice restaurant on board the ship. The food was amazing and it was a great place to celebrate. Then we headed off to Victoria, British Columbia.

Victoria is a village in Canada. It is beautiful and sits right on the ocean. We visited Buchart Gardens, which is a huge garden there.The flowers blew me away, it was nothing like the botanical gardens. The landscape was amazing. They had unique flowers I had never seen and a variety of different themes such as; Japanese gardens, Italian Gardens, Rose Gardens, etc. We had a wonderful time and watched the sunset over the gardens.

The next morning we arrived again in Seattle where we headed home. We had one final family meal and boarded the plane back to Texas. It was somewhat sad because we had to leave and the people on the boat had become friends. We had wonderful memories and pictures to bring back, and we knew this was a trip that had changed us forever.The memories will never be forgotten...
