The second stop we had in Alaska was in Skagway. It is a little town and it had a lot of neat shops and we went on a walking tour of the town and a hike. During the walking tour, we learned some great information regarding the history of the town and the famous people who lived there, one of them being Soapy Smith. After the tour and a few museum stops, we headed to go on our next hike. We arrived up at the top of the mountain to find a beautiful lake and streams.

Then we boarded the boat and headed for the Inside Passage. It is a narrow passage in an iceberg filled waterway leading up to a Glacier. The scene and God's glory took my breath away. We arrived at the Glacier and Charles Stanley read Genesis while we all viewed the scene. It was a moment I will cherish for as long as I live. It is hard to describe in words what it was like and we stood in silence just experiencing God's love and grace.

We celebrated Jared's 24th birthday that night as well. We had a captain's dinner and the waiting staff sang happy birthday along with us. His birthday was great and it brought back memories from the past. When we first met, Jared and I were friends and for his 21st birthday I made him a stacked up cookie cake and put 21 candles on a cookie. Time sure fly's by but we had a great time celebrating. The memories we made in Alaska were wonderful and will not be forgotten.

We had two more stops that will be recorded in the next blog post.
