This week I am thankful for joy, which lifts the spirit and enlightens the soul. I am thankful that joy is present in the worst of circumstances, in uncertainty and doubt, and in the midst of trials. I am thankful that joy is not dependent upon us or our attitude or feelings but stands alone as a free gift.

Psalm 16:11
"You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
Colossians 1: 11-14
"May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sin."
Philippians 2:1-2
"So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind."
