Bible Verses: Human Trafficking

This series has taken on a new point of reference. So here it goes, for the foreseeable future this series will cover a vast majority of topics that need prayer, organizations that need support, and causes that need volunteers, all to make us more aware so that we seek Him more in prayer. Please feel free to offer up suggestions on topics that interest you or organizations that you support.

This week we will cover a very heartbreaking topic: Human Trafficking
I have been mulling over for a while now how to broach this subject and there is no pretty nice way to talk about children that are being exploited into sexual slavery. This is going to be a rough post to write and to read and I will approach it from the viewpoint and vantage point that adequately covers how serious this problem is. So here it goes, please forgive me in advance if this is too straight forward, and know that this issue is truly something close to my heart for very personal reasons.

It is dark and somewhere on the streets the darkness is unfathomable. The streets of India, a place where so many underage children and women are used and abused in a sexual trading game. The women and children did not choose to work there, they were sold. They do not gain money from this it goes to free them eventually, a truth that many will never know. Most of these women and their children will never be free from this slavery, most will never see much more than the bars of a cage. How can the world be silent against this atrocity? Heartbreaking!  This post is only to make those of you who are unaware aware of the very real problem of sexual trafficking. It is also intended to break our hearts. Why? because these children are someone's babies. They are God's. He has ransomed them, he will save them, and He will pierce through the darkness.

What are we called to do? We are called to pray, mourn, bear their burden, financially support, educate, and pray some more. So that the light can shine in this darkness, and it will because He has ransomed them, they are His, and as the Word says, "Those in darkness have seen a great light."
