This week we return to 1st John in our Bible Verses series. This study has been eye opening and enriching for me and I hope it has been for you as well. We will continue in 1st John until mid June when we will start a new series. I still have not made a final decision regarding the topic but it will be a topical series that will last through August. Lots of great things to look forward to. In the meantime, May God continue to transform our hearts and lives through the power of His word.
*Bible Verses is not an exhaustive study and each reader should seek the Lord alone for revelation and translation.
1st John 3:1-3
"See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure."
These verses are life changing. We are children of the living God. He hears our prayers, He comforts us, leads us, sustains us. This very statement is our calling; to be children of God. To portray his legacy to the world. His legacy that sets captives free, that cleanses sin, that redeems brokenness. This is the message that the world so desperately needs to hear. Our hope is to be with him, to follow him, and to proclaim who He is to the world. We should hope in Him alone, seek Him alone, and worship Him alone; worship with our lives and live up to our calling.
