Bible Verses: New

The series continues this week with another amazing promise from God the promise of provision. This promise means more than just physical provision as the Lord has provided for us physically he also provides atonement for sin, mercy, and forgiveness. So this week as we all struggle to trust, wrestle with our own desire to succeed and provide for ourselves, and face discouragement and discord might we remember that the Lord provides. May it sink in as we eat our meals in peace, as we enter our homes, as we shop at the dreaded grocery store, as we are confronted by our sins, might we be overcome with the reality of the provision of the Lord and may it draw our souls to praise and repentance.

" The Lord will Provide- Yahweh Yireh"

"The Hebrew word raah means "to see." In this case, it is translated as "provide." Since God sees the future as well as the past and present, he is able to anticipate and provide for what is needed. Interestingly, the English word "provision" is made up of two Latin words that mean "to see beforehand." When you pray to Yahweh Yireh, you are praying to the God who sees the situation beforehand and is able to provide for your needs." 

" When it comes to the things God has promised us- wisdom, strength for our trials, a way out of temptation, and fullness of life- our obedience is key. No matter what the circumstances, we need to realize there is no limit to God's power to do what he says-if we believe and obey." 

"For in the land the Lord your God is giving you to possess as your inheritance, he will richly bless you, if only you fully obey the Lord your God and are careful to follow all these commands I am giving you today." Deuteronomy 15: 4-5 

In a culture that seeps with stuff it is difficult to grasp real provision, the absolute reliance upon God alone. The absolute trust that God will make a way even when we are stripped of everything we have. What a beautiful promise but one that I pray that none of us become numb to, a seemingly difficult thing to escape in a materialistic, selfish, world, within our own sinful, broken hearts. May they beat anew with the blood of Christ, may they sing for Him alone, may they long for His promises even if it means giving up every ounce of what we possess. May we be free . . . the only path to freedom sometimes is paved with the path of giving up what we cling to so readily. . . to long for more. . . not more stuff. . . not more fame. . . more of Christ. . . beat. . . More of the Holy Spirit. . . beat. . . More of the Gospel. . . beat. . . More Love. . . beat. . . Oh Lord revive our hearts. Set us free. . .
